Currently we are looking for information, donators, and volunteers to help us remember those that are in what appears to be in an abandoned and vandalized cemetery here in Stedman, North Carolina.
The plot of land lies between Maxwell Road and the Food Lion parking lot in Stedman. Headstones are turned over, the plot has degraded to sand, (if there ever was grass) and it is virtually invisible unless you are looking for it.
Sad to say, I have lived here for two years and just noticed it , not because I saw it, but because my wife pointed it out to me!
It is obvious that family members still come, and lay flowers at the graves. But to have no proper entrance, nor walking path, or fencing is sad, and pitiful that this (what appears to be) family cemetery has gone to the wayside.
I ask for volunteers , or donators to helps us clean the brush, plant seed, and place a proper path and fencing for those and the family of those that have passed.
