Over the last few years, we have developed a core structure of basic
guidelines to make this site and it's membership productive. MyPara is a website
that is based on the principles of scientific paranormal investigations, hauntings,
and logical discussions based on facts.
Our website is a unique
experience from the vast array of other paranormal websites. We are going to
ask of you all to respect the following rules of the site:
Respect of race, color, and creed.
Membership of this website will not attack others for their ethnicity,
skin color, or personal religious beliefs. Any member who attacks another based
on these will be immediately banned and their account removed.
Age restrictions.
We currently have an age limit of 16 for this website. Those younger than 16 should engage an adult when accessing this site, or communicate their concerns with a local investigative group. Though we respect that younger members may have plenty to offer these discussions, and need help just like everybody else, some content on this site may not be age appropriate.
Personal Profile Pages
Your profile page is your outward appearance to the people of this community.
The people of this community are here because of an interest in the paranormal.
Members who join this community are not here for a "dating" site or looking
to meet someone for purposes of hooking up. That's what eHarmony and MySpace
are for. MyPara is foremost, a place to discuss paranormal activity and to
showcase teams.
You are not allowed to promote marketing schemes on
your profile pages. Nobody cares about get rich quick/work at home schemes and
these types of profiles will not be tolerated on this website.
If
you are promoting a paranormal group or team profile page, the team may not be
included on this website if a fee is charged for investigating or any other related
services. Those that charge a fee in this field for investigations and services
related, are charlatans and have no place in the field of paranormal research.
MyPara will not be a part of this growing problem. We will become the solution
by removing accounts of para teams that hurt the field by doing this.
Spam
Posting of multiple threads in the forums on the same topic are forbidden.
Always look to see if the topic you are posting about is already being discussed
on a current thread (Utilize the search feature). If you are posting about
a topic you feel needs special attention, please contact an administrator denoted
by the |Mypara.net after their names, and we will consider featuring your
topic in our forums. Any deliberate spamming, or multiple threads on the same
topic will result in the immediate termination of your account, and deletion of
all content including but not limited to, any pics, videos, music, and groups
you are the owner of.
Spamming of the forum threads, Blogs, or emails
of the members of MyPara Social Network is expressly forbidden. Spamming is
defined as multiple threads of the same topic, mass emails to personal email accounts
of members and/or administrators. Numerous Private Message using the Mypara
PM feature or phone calls to members. Any violation of this rule will result
in immediate termination without prior notice and all offending spam will be
forwarded to the Attorney General of the State of Wisconsin for prosecution as
determined by the laws of the State of Wisconsin, the United States, and existing
internet anti-spamming laws.
Advertising
Creating an account on MyPara for the sole utilization of advertising
services/events/other websites is forbidden. If you create an account to simply
promote and advertise with no intention of participation within the website,
your account will be removed. Advertising is fine on your personal pages within
reason (to be determined by the main administration of this website). If you simply
come here to post events or notices on the message boards which promote an
event, your account will be removed. I would suggest using the purchase advertising
feature here on MyPara for proper display.
Advertisement submissions
may be turned down if they do not meet the site criteria. It is best to
submit an ad first for approval before sending a payment through paypal.
Photographs
Uploaded photographs must consist of the paranormal but not related to
orbs, breath or cigarette fogs, proximity exhaled moisture, insect reflections/rods,
precipitation orbs, lens smears, camera straps/hair aka vortexes, Photos
must be titled and labeled. Photos with 00MH201 titles will be denied instantly.
This does not help in people knowing what your photos are of. Team photos
and photos of your team in action on locations are well received. Photo comments
must not be closed. They must be open to public comments. Any comments deleted
by a user will have their account removed. No censorship on comments unless
by an Admin.
• Deleting comments left by users under photographs
is forbidden. Leaving comments up that only support agreement of your photograph
is always nice, but it is unfair to others who have a different opinion.

If you are caught deleting comments of others who have a different opinion,
you will have your account removed from this service. We have a no tolerance
policy for censorship.
• Upload unmodified photos first. No photos
in photoshop or an editing program can be taken seriously. EXIF data of a photograph
tells if it has been altered or changed. Also photos with arrows or circles
around what you think is a ghost will not be approved, unless the original
photo is uploaded first.
• If you plagiarize a photo and call it
your own and is discovered as theft, you will be banned.
• New Age art
photos are not allowed. These types of photos are not within our site's topics.
•
Again, reminding everyone that if you are featuring a photo of
orbs, mists, rods, fogs, camera strap vortexes, or any type of non acceptable
photography mentioned above, expect your photo submissions to be denied.
Videos
Videos uploaded to MyPara directly must be paranormal in nature. Music
videos or anything else must be hotlinked/embedded from a 3rd party site such
as YouTube.
• Deleting comments left by users under videos is forbidden.
Leaving comments up that only support in agreement of your video is always
nice, but it is unfair to others who have a different opinion then yours.

If you are caught deleting comments of others who have a different opinion

Forums
The forums are a place to discuss, within the categories labeled, on
a vast variety of topics. In order to keep the communication based in logic, the
rules will be enforced to eliminate any potential issues within.

Religion is to be left at the door. To base evidence as irrefutable proof based
on religious teaching and writings is unproductive. This includes terms such
as “demons”, “angels”, “God”, “Jesus”, etc... Also, Reiki and other methodologies
of healing or new age principles that have suggestive overtones of religion,
are expressly forbidden. MyPara members have a vast variety of religious beliefs
and we are in no way telling people how to practice their beliefs. keep discussions
logical and organized.
• If you are looking to advertise on
the forums about events, book releases, conventions, etc, please contact us for
advertising rates and promotions. Advertisements in the forums will be removed.
Repeat offenders will have their account removed from the service.
Groups
Groups are a feature on MyPara that allows the users to have a specific
topic or micro website for their paranormal team or topic related discussions.
•
In symmetrical fashion with our other guidelines, Groups
that emphasize the metaphysical, are not allowed on MyPara. This includes psychic
orientated content which is not the purpose of MyPara.
Uploaded EVPs
MyPara has the feature in which you may upload electronic voice phenomena.
Please do not upload music or use this feature outside of the intended purpose.
Blogs
If you choose to host a blog here on MyPara:
• Do not use
it for metaphysical propaganda.
• Do not attack other site users.

We will inform you as a community if this section is updated or modified.
The internet is a changing platform with new and manipulative ways to saturate
websites. Rule bending, scamming, spamming, and various other underhanded
methods are constantly being developed. We want everyone here on MyPara to have
a safe and excellent experience here.
